Oh ChuckieJabba...what did you do now!?!

F you for asking.

No, really, really let me tell you my perspective on this clearly before I explain it in length: just because you and/or your personal value system, deem that what I did (or did not do) in a particular context is UNFAIR or even if you agree that my reaction was “understandable” TO YOU, does NOT IN ANY WAY make it any more or less offensive or passionate  to ME. I respect your right to your opinion and I am trying to continue to learn new things by listening to other’s but I

Ya feel me?

I’ll begin, anecdotally, with yesterday Inn Austin, TX where 10s of Thousands of Creatives are gathered from all around the world for the 32nd annual (my first) #SXSW Festival and, concurrently, a series of human beings were killed by bombs in “Amazon” packages they found on their front porches. This was the final 16 minutes of the morning yesterday from my POV:

If you didn’t feel like watching that, let me summarize: I was enjoying Austin’s best BBQ when a friend from NYC called to ask if I was OK - this was the first I heard of the bombs. It was around 11:30am. I tried to learn more, spoke with #VICELAND and a few of Texas’ Finist and was told that it was 4 bombs delivered by brown boxes and 3 elderly African American grandmothers were dead.

I walked up the next few blocks towards the Convention Center where the Festival info booth is located. I ask everyone in my path if they knew anything. ~92% if the people on the street had very important pitch sessions for their new screenplay and had not heard of

The gatekeeper at the loading dock of the ACC told be that they had locked down the building. A blind African American Austinite man about my age named Jake gave me a great deal of information. We stood together for 20 mins while he called his buddy at the local newspaper and we confirmed a few details.

But by this time I was overwhelmed by the story from my REAL REEL POV. People enjoy ignorant bubble and trust their smartphone exponentially more than the ether around them. Obviously I had heard about this national isolationism since the turn of this millennium and I had heard how scary and angry Texas were becoming; but, as a kinesthetic learning, I didn’t internalize it until I felt it ya no?

By the time I took a left and cut across the face of the CC i was “pulled over” by the police. I got a glimpse of what they mean by DWB “driving while black”. I continued to film and try to stay cool but it was scary. They let me walk on, I took a hard left and headed down to the riverbank to breathe deeply.

And the more I think about it, it’s probably just a result of the trophy generation thinking that what they think matters more than anybody else’s which of course is the only thing that Freud and Young agreed with but those also seem like all the rules from the information from the industrial age
